About the CBDF Market Summit
The CBDF Market Summit is the official industry marketplace held annually as part of the Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival (TINFF) and the broader TINFF ecosystem each September. The Summit serves as a dynamic platform where filmmakers, producers, distributors, investors, institutions, and creative professionals from around the world come together to engage in industry dialogue, project development, networking, and international collaboration. Designed to bridge markets and create meaningful connections, the CBDF Market Summit plays a key role in supporting the growth and global positioning of diverse film industries within Canada and beyond.

A Global Industry Platform
Originally established to connect international film industry stakeholders with the Canadian market, the CBDF Market Summit has rapidly evolved into a dynamic and inclusive platform attracting participants from Canada, the United States, Europe, Africa, the Caribbean, and beyond.
Today, the Market serves as a central meeting point for professionals seeking to build partnerships, explore co-production opportunities, and engage with global film communities within a multicultural and collaborative environment.

Part of the TINFF Ecosystem
The CBDF Market Summit operates within the TINFF ecosystem, which includes:
• Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival (TINFF)
• Brampton International Nollywood Film Festival (BINFF)
• The International Comedy & Art Film Festival (TICAFF)
Together, these platforms support film exhibition, industry engagement, cultural exchange, and global collaboration, creating a comprehensive environment for filmmakers and industry professionals.

Industry Programming
The CBDF Market Summit features curated programming designed to support creative and professional development across the film industry.
Key activities include:
• Filmmakers Roundtable Discussions
• Writers & Story Development Sessions
• Music & Film Score Conversations
• Project Showcase & Market Presentations
• Producers & Production Collaboration Forum
• Co-Production Collaboration Discussions
• Industry Networking Sessions
• 1-on-1 Meetings with Cinematic Box Distribution Canada
These sessions provide opportunities for participants to exchange ideas, develop projects, and build meaningful industry relationships.

TINFF Distribution Ecosystem

TINFF Distribution Ecosystem
A key component of the Market is its connection to the TINFF distribution ecosystem, providing pathways beyond festival screenings.
Through Cinematic Box Distribution Canada (CBDC), participants gain access to:
• Eligible Worldwide Distribution under the Canada Media Fund (CMF)
• Telefilm Canada–recognized distribution for the English and French market
• Financing and distribution pathways supporting projects of up to $3.5 million
This creates real opportunities for both Canadian productions and official treaty co-productions with Canada, enabling filmmakers and producers to align their projects with Canadian funding frameworks and expand into international markets.

Festival Experience
As part of the TINFF experience, CBDF Market delegates also gain access to key festival programs that enhance networking and visibility, including:
• TINFF Fashion Week, connecting fashion and film creatives
• TINFF Red Carpet Experience, offering media exposure and industry visibility
• TINFF Closing Gala Awards, celebrating excellence in global cinema
This integration provides a complete festival and market experience, combining industry engagement with cultural celebration.
Our Mission
The CBDF Market Summit is committed to fostering collaboration between Canada and international film industries, creating opportunities for:
• Co-production partnerships
• Resource sharing
• Project development
• Cross-distribution
• Global storytelling
The goal is to build a platform where diverse voices can connect, collaborate, and contribute to the growth of the global film industry.
